The most obvious reason to take a motorcycle safety course is to learn how to ride or improve your existing riding ability. The most conclusive motorcycle accident study ever compiled, the Hurt Report, identified that over 90% of all motorcycle accidents involved a motorcyclist who had no formal training or was self-taught.
Besides providing you with information and training to help you enhance your riding ability and enjoyment, our courses have a few other perks. (Not to mention that motorcycles are allowed in the HOV/Carpool Lane!).
Most insurance companies offer a premium discount if you complete one of our courses. The percentage of discounts varies widely from different insurance companies and even from different insurance agents of the same insurance company.
In most cases the Utah Driver License Division will waive the riding portion of the motorcycle license exam for graduates of our Basic Rider Course. Although rare, the State Drivers License Division always has the option of requiring the riding portion of the evaluation. However, you will still be required to take and pass the 25-question written exam.
Many motorcycle manufacturers will reimburse part or all of the course tuition with the purchase of a new motorcycle. Each manufacturer has their own restrictions and guidelines for reimbursement of your tuition. Here is a list of the manufacturers we have information for:
